New York’s DJ Disciple announces the release of his book, The Beat, the Scene, the Sound: A DJ’s Journey through the Rise, Fall, and Rebirth of House Music in New York City with a Talk & DJ Session at Hoxton’s Love Vinyl record store on Saturday, July 22nd from 2 pm onwards. He also plays 2 Exclusive UK dates – the Dance For Stevie Summer Cruise Fundraiser on Sunday, July 16th aboard the Dutch Master on the Thames and on Saturday 22nd, he headlines Roasted at The Love Inn. Bristol.

Disciple’s musical journey saw him climb up the ranks of New York’s underground house party scene with a hugely successful radio show, ‘New York’s Best Kept Secret’ and playing incredible parties such as Wild Pitch, Zanzibar, Palladium and Tunnel. Constantly evolving as NYC’s house scene dipped Disciple travelled to Europe to spread the message. He touched down in London in the 90s clocking up miles around the country and playing the biggest house clubs and festivals in every city including the Southport Weekender, Back To Basics and Cream. A respected Radio DJ, Disciple featured on BBC Radio 1’s Essential Mix, and on Kiss FM and went on to host a long-running show in the UK, the Transatlantic Mix with DJ Tony Walker.

Known for both his vocal house and peak-time bangers, other Disciple productions were instrumental in the birth of UK Garage. He carried on travelling the world spreading his uplifting chunky house music sound, running his own Catch-22 label, and notching up an impressive catalogue that includes the Grammy-nominated track “Caught Up” – Number 1 on the US Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart & later featured in the Showtime series “Queer As Folk”.

Disciple’s first UK appearance on the decks is for the Dance For Stevie Summer Cruise Fundraiser on Sunday, July 16th from 4pm-9pm, and all money raised goes to support Stevie Zoo’s post-Covid care. He is joined by DJs Bobby & Steve, Booker T, Johnny Reckless as they cruise along the Thames aboard the Dutch Master, which boards fromTower Bridge Quay, St Katharine’s Way, E1W 1LD (southside of Tower Bridge).

The following Saturday July 22nd, Disciple hosts a hotly anticipated In Store Book Talk & DJ Session event taking place at Love Vinyl, 5 Pearson St, Hoxton, E2 between 2pm-6.30pm. Opening with a Talk about his experiences catalogued in the book and his unique experiences over the last 30 years, DJ Disciple will also be spinning a gospel-infused house vinyl set and is joined by stalwart DJ Soul Provyder (Soho Radio/4ToTheFloor) and will also be signing copies of the book that afternoon.

That evening (22nd) Disciple travels to Bristol to play at Roasted at The Love Inn with DJs Deli G and Ben Daley from 10pm-4am.
